When it comes to our food we are learning that corporate
farms are destroying our nutrition in our food source. There has been great stride to teach
consumers to eat local, eat whole, and eat healthy. But what happens when consumers want to eat
sweet? SUGAR, SALT, FAT, and CONVENIENCE
is what attracts consumers to sweet eating choices. Along with the first ingredient listed as
(bleached) sugar comes artificial flavors, artificial colors, chemical
preservatives, bleached flour. These
choices {not in moderation} can lead to chronic diseases, diabetes, heart
disease, obesity, etc. How does the
consumer eat sweet that is local, whole, and healthier options? By substituting the ingredients? Your brain and taste buds quickly recognize
this sawdust texture and processed sugar alcohol are not indulgent sweets. And you are back on the wagon (or is it off
the wagon) of junk food binging. Two
extremes of sweet indulgence.
